Matthew 21
| Hear another parable: There
was a certain householder, which planted a
vineyard, and hedged it round about, and digged
a winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it
out to husbandmen, and went into a far country: |
| And when the time of the
fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the
husbandmen, that they might receive the fruits
of it. |
| And the husbandmen took his
servants, and beat one, and killed another, and
stoned another. |
| Again, he sent other
servants more than the first: and they did unto
them likewise. |
| But last of all he sent
unto them his son, saying, They will reverence
my son. |
| But when the husbandmen saw
the son, they said among themselves, This is the
heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on
his inheritance. |
| And they caught him, and
cast him out of the vineyard, and slew him. |
| When the lord therefore of
the vineyard cometh, what will he do unto those
husbandmen? |
| They say unto him, He will
miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let
out his vineyard unto other husbandmen, which
shall render him the fruits in their seasons. |
| Jesus saith unto them, Did
ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which
the builders rejected, the same is become the
head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing,
and it is marvellous in our eyes? |
| Therefore say I unto you,
The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and
given to a nation bringing forth the fruits
thereof. |
| And whosoever shall fall on
this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it
shall fall, it will grind him to powder. |
| And when the chief priests
and Pharisees had heard his parables, they
perceived that he spake of them. |
| But when they sought to lay
hands on him, they feared the multitude, because
they took him for a prophet. |
Matthew 21:33-46 |
Matthew 22
| Then went the Pharisees,
and took counsel how they might entangle him in
his talk. |
| And they sent out unto him
their disciples with the Herodians, saying,
Master, we know that thou art true, and teachest
the way of God in truth, neither carest thou for
any man: for thou regardest not the person of
men. |
| Tell us therefore, What
thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto
Caesar, or not? |
| But Jesus perceived their
wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye me, ye
hypocrites? |
| Show me the tribute money.
And they brought unto him a penny. |
| And he saith unto them,
Whose is this image and superscription? |
| They say unto him,
Caesar's. Then saith he unto them, Render
therefore unto Caesar the things which are
Caesar's; and unto God the things that are
God's. |
| When they had heard these
words, they marvelled, and left him, and went
their way. |
| The same day came to him
the Sadducees, which say that there is no
resurrection, and asked him, |
| Saying, Master, Moses said,
If a man die, having no children, his brother
shall marry his wife, and raise up seed unto his
brother. |
Matthew 22:15-24 |
Matthew 22
| Now there were with us
seven brethren: and the first, when he had
married a wife, deceased, and, having no issue,
left his wife unto his brother: |
| Likewise the second also,
and the third, unto the seventh. |
| And last of all the woman
died also. |
| Therefore in the
resurrection whose wife shall she be of the
seven? for they all had her. |
| Jesus answered and said
unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the
scriptures, nor the power of God. |
| For in the resurrection
they neither marry, nor are given in marriage,
but are as the angels of God in heaven. |
| But as touching the
resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that
which was spoken unto you by God, saying, |
| I am the God of Abraham,
and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God
is not the God of the dead, but of the living. |
| And when the multitude
heard this, they were astonished at his
doctrine. |
| But when the Pharisees had
heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence,
they were gathered together. |
Matthew 22:25-33 |
John 1
| In the beginning was the
Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word
was God. |
| The same was in the
beginning with God. |
| All things were made by
him; and without him was not any thing made that
was made. |
| In him was life; and the
life was the light of men. |
| And the light shineth in
darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. |
| There was a man sent from
God, whose name was John. |
| The same came for a
witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all
men through him might believe. |
| He was not that Light, but
was sent to bear witness of that Light. |
| That was the true Light,
which lighteth every man that cometh into the
world. |
| He was in the world, and
the world was made by him, and the world knew
him not. |
| He came unto his own, and
his own received him not. |
| But as many as received
him, to them gave he power to become the sons of
God, even to them that believe on his name: |
| Which were born, not of
blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the
will of man, but of God. |
| And the Word was made
flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his
glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the
Father,) full of grace and truth. |
John 1:1-14 |
Hebrews 7
| For the law made nothing
perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope
did; by the which we draw nigh unto God. |
Hebrews 11
| By faith Abraham, when he
was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had
received the promises offered up his only
begotten son. |
| Of whom it was said, That
in Isaac shall thy seed be called: |
| Accounting that God was
able to raise him up, even from the dead; from
whence also he received him in a figure. |
